Graphic Designer

Tipping Point Communications is seeking a highly motivated individual to add to our graphic design team. This role will work closely with our Creative Director. We are currently working a hybrid in-office/work-from-home schedule.

Job Summary

We’re expanding our team! We are looking for a knock-out creative to join our graphic design team. We’re a growing, high-energy, full-service digital marketing agency based in the greater Rochester, New York area. This role would be a great fit if you hate being bored and love fresh creative projects. This role entails: ad design, social media content design, short motion graphics, and print design.

You will thrive in this role if you have an eye for engaging, timeless design, and know all the latest digital advertising trends.

Software Skill Set:

In ranked-order

  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Adobe InDesign
  • Adobe After Effects
  • Adobe Premiere
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS
  • Email design platforms (Mailchimp, etc.)
  • Adobe Lightroom

Practical Skill Set:

  • Graphic content creation for social media (motion and static graphics)
  • Digital ad design (display campaigns, social media, etc.)
  • Email campaign design
  • Creation and execution of product mockups (clothing, brand collateral, etc.)
  • Occasional brand identity design
  • Occasional print design

You will be involved in creating the following:

  • Mastery of typography and typographical hierarchy
  • Master in layout design, composition, and use of grid systems
  • Strong understanding of color theory, color psychology, and practical application of both
  • Understanding and application of user-centered design principles
  • Developed creative process
  • Strong ability to solve problems from a visual and practical design perspective
  • Ability to create compelling motion graphics and light animation for social and digital landscapes
  • Keen eye for design trends while keeping a timeless sense of style
  • Developed personal design style, not just copying the latest trends
  • Ability to key into many individual brands, developing new designs in line with their visual identity
  • Attention to detail, proofing/proofreading visual work

Provide support for the Back of House team

  • Maintaining media flowcharts
  • Routinely entering all campaign information from flowcharts into our project management software, Teamwork
  • Provide support to the PPC and Paid Social Expert with client reporting, including analyzing reporting data into actionable insights for our clients.
  • Oversee creative traffic and ensure that all materials are in house prior to deadline and routed appropriately through the agency.
  • Assist in tracking buys/ orders, creative specifications development, etc.
  • Manage overall client budgets and projections process throughout the year; make sure that budgets stay on track and that all projects are billed appropriately.
  • Assist with the planning and strategy process by conducting target consumer research and analyzing findings.

Provide support to the accounts receivable and payable manager

  • Review, reconcile and research vendor statements for missing invoices, duplicate payments, open credits and communicate status with Accounting Manager
  • Assemble copies of vendor invoices and tear sheets as required for special client billing

Other duties:

  • Assist with answering phones, greeting guests, taking messages
  • Actively seek out areas for process improvement
  • Proactively advise Accounting Manager of all breaches in process
  • Special projects, as assigned by Accounting Manager

Requirements:

3+ years in a professional graphic design/creative role

Bachelors in graphic design, art, or related field

OR combination of equivalent experience/education

Agency/In-House experience preferred

Marketing/Advertising experience required

Compensation:

$44,000.00 - $52,000.00 / year
